Do I Need Cancer Insurance?

Cancer is the leading cause of death
The incidence of cancer has been rising worldwide in recent years. In Singapore, it’s estimated that about 35 people2 are diagnosed with cancer every day.
The cost of treating cancer is high
The costs of cancer treatment in Singapore can go beyond S$31,000 and S$46,000 in private hospitals/clinics3. Health insurance can help to a certain extent, but it may not completely cover all costs associated with being ill with cancer.
Cancer Insurance can help in many ways
It provides peace of mind that you’ll have cash in hand as a financial back-up. The lump-sum can be used to defray any unexpected expenses or used to offset any medical costs, should you reach the limits of your health insurance.
High costs of medical treatment, potentially long recovery period and loss of income.
A cancer plan provides you with an additional financial safety net. With cancer insurance, you won’t have to worry as much about your family being financially burdened by your illness.
