What is the Multi-claim feature?

This feature is applicable to Multi-claim Critical Illness Plan and Multi-claim Early Care Rider only. It allows the policy owner to make multiple claims on this base plan and this rider, until total 300% of the sum assured has been paid out under Multi-claim Critical Illness Plan and Multi-claim Early Care Rider (if selected).

How it works:
After a claim is admitted and paid out under Multi-claim plan/rider, the sum assured will be reduced to zero, but the policy remains in-force. After consecutive 12 claim-free months (“reset period”) from the diagnosis date of the previous claim, the sum assured will be reset to 100% of the original amount and claims can be made under Multi-claim plan/rider again. The sum assured can be reset multiple times with each a 12-month reset period, until 300% of the sum assured is fully paid out.

Take note that during this reset period, no claims will be admitted under the Multi-claim plan/rider.

Each stage of each critical illness can only be claimed once. The maximum amount payable for each critical illness aggregating all stages (early to late) is 100% of the sum assured. If there is more than one critical illness diagnosed on the same date, only one claim will be payable for the critical illness and this will be the claim approved for the highest payout.

The premiums for the Multi-claim Critical Illness Plan and Multi-claim Early Care Rider remain payable throughout the policy term as long as the policy is in-force; they are payable even during the reset period in which no claims can be made.

Waiting period: There is a 90-day waiting period from the policy effective date or the latest reinstatement date (whichever is later) before you can make a claim on the following conditions:

  • Coronary Artery By-pass Surgery (all stages)
  • Other Serious Coronary Artery Disease (all stages)
  • Heart Attack of Specified Severity (all stages)
  • Major Cancer (all stages)

Survival period:
The life assured must survive 7 days after the date of diagnosis of any covered conditions, before the selected sum assured for the benefits is payable. Otherwise, only the death benefit under the base plan will be payable and the policy will terminate thereafter.
