Can I nominate beneficiaries under the POGIS?

Nomination of beneficiaries is applicable for death benefits payable under the Term Life coverage.

In the event of a death claim with no valid nomination, Singlife will pay the first S$150,000 to the proper claimant. Any remaining balance of the death benefit will be distributed in accordance with prevailing insurance laws and other relevant laws governing the estates of deceased persons:

i. If the deceased had written a Will, the family will need to engage a lawyer to apply to the Court for a Grant of Probate. This process may take up to 6 months

ii. If the deceased did not have a Will, he/she will be considered to have died intestate. In such cases, the family must engage a lawyer to apply to the Court for a Grant of Letters of Administration, which may take up to 3 years to resolve.

Who can I nominate?

You can nominate a designated beneficiary such as your parent(s), legal spouse (who is not divorced or legally separated from the member); and/or biological/legally adopted child. If you wish to designate other beneficiaries or have specific wishes, you have the option to draft a Will.

Can I change my nomination at any time?

Yes, you can change your nomination at any time. Simply cancel your current nomination and submit a new one.

Can applicants with a FIN number or Passport number submit a nomination?
