Pre-existing medical condition refers to any allergy, injury, infirmity, symptom, condition, illness or related complication—whether diagnosed or undiagnosed—that:
· You reasonably knew about or were informed of before the start date of your trip;
· Within 12 months before the start date of your trip:
- you received advice, diagnosis, medication or treatment for;
- you are under investigation or awaiting results for; or
- you are on a waiting list for in-patient treatment or have been advised by a doctor to seek in-patient treatment.
If you have an annual policy with us and have made a claim for an allergy, injury, infirmity, symptom, condition, illness or related complication on a previous trip, we will treat that medical condition as a pre-existing medical condition in any subsequent trip.
You can still purchase the policy, but it won’t cover any loss, damage or liability that directly or indirectly arises as a result of any pre-existing medical condition unless you purchase the Pre-existing Medical Conditions add-on during application and the coverage is reflected in your Schedule.
Please note that this add-on is only available for Single Trip plans with a maximum trip duration of 30 days.

The Pre-existing Medical Conditions add-on applies to the entire policy. This means that if you purchase a Family or Group plan and opt to include this add-on, the cover will extend to all individuals (including children) insured under the policy.
The cover is still subject to policy exclusions. Claims arising from pre-existing medical conditions where you have been given a terminal prognosis with a life expectancy of less than 12 months, HIV related illness, sexually transmitted diseases and mental disorders are not covered.
For the full list of exclusions, please refer to your policy document.
