Singlife today is one of the largest homegrown financial services companies in Singapore.
It was formed from the merger of Singlife (founded in 2014 by Walter de Oude) and Aviva Singapore in 2022.

British insurance companies begin transacting in the thriving regional hub of Singapore, including Norwich Union Fire, Commercial Union and General Accident.
Insurance Corporation of Singapore (ICS) is incorporated as the insurance subsidiary of the Development Bank of Singapore Limited (DBS).
ICS signs landmark partnership with the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF), beginning a relationship of some 40 years.
Through a series of mergers, Commercial Union, General Accident and Norwich Union form CGNU, which later acquires ICS in Singapore.
CGNU rebrands globally. The Aviva name arrives in Singapore.
Aviva Singapore acquires Navigator, an integrated investment platform.
The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) recognises Aviva Singapore as a Tier 1 insurer, affirming its high standards of corporate governance.
Aviva Singapore becomes the first local insurer to offer online motor insurance through its digital platform.
Aviva Singapore acquires Professional Investment Advisory Services (PIAS), one of Asia’s largest advisory firms.
Aviva Singapore expands its advisory practice through the establishment of Aviva Financial Advisors, providing personalised investment plans to customers.
Aviva Singapore is reappointed the official insurance provider of MINDEF and signs a new partnership with the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), providing coverage for national servicemen from the Singapore Police Force and Singapore Civil Defence Force.
Aviva Singapore launches its CSR programme, Meals with Love to support underserved communities in the country.
Singlife becomes the
first local insurer to be licensed by the MAS since 1970.
Singlife acquires the business portfolio of Zurich Life.
