Ray is a renowned banker and board level leader with almost 20 years of CEO experience internationally.

Formerly CEO of Standard Chartered Singapore, and Regional CEO, South East Asia, he also served as Group Chief Banking Officer of Bank Arab Banking Corporation. Ray was awarded Distinguished Fellow by the Institute of Banking and Finance, Singapore.

Walter de Oude

Walter has been active in the financial services sector since moving to Singapore in 2000. Prior to establishing Singapore Life in 2014, Walter was CEO at HSBC Insurance Singapore.

He was also a board member of HSBC Asset Management Singapore. A qualified actuary, Walter is passionate about Singapore Life’s role in empowering customers to take control of their financial future.

David Gelber

Board member of IPGL, Singapore Life’s principal shareholder. Prior to this, David was COO of HSBC Global Markets.

He later joined ICAP as COO, transforming it into a multi-billion company. He currently serves as Chairman of Walker Crips PLC and also Chairman of Exotix Ltd, a frontier market investment bank.

Kenji Yoneda

Kenji has extensive experience in life insurance. He is a qualified lawyer in New York and served as Chief Representative of Sumitomo’s UK and Vietnam office.

He currently serves as General Manager of Sumitomo Life’s International Business Department and Director of Bao Viet Holdings.

Estella Chiu

Independent Director

Estella previously led the actuarial practice at KPMG for Asia Pacific. Estella was Regional Chief Actuary and Head of Investment and Insurance Risks of HSBC Insurance in Asia.

She also served in the Board of Directors for HSBC Life. Additionally, Estella was Chairman of the China Committee of the International Actuarial Association, and President of the Actuarial Society of Hong Kong.

Lawrence Wong

Laurence has a deep background in life and general insurance. He has held key positions with multinationals as well as a mutual insurer, both in Singapore and in South-East Asia.

Laurence is currently Senior Director of Business Development for the Singapore International Commercial Court. Prior to that, he was CEO of Great Eastern Life Vietnam.

Max-Broden

Max Brodén

Max Brodén is currently Deputy Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer at Aflac Inc. Max also oversees the company’s efforts to engage investors and rating agencies on a range of issues including the company’s financial performance and corporate governance activities, as well as strategic partnerships and planning. Prior to joining Aflac, he served as senior portfolio manager for Norges Bank, managing an equity portfolio of diversified global financial and insurance stocks. He also worked for several years at DnB Nor Asset Management in Stockholm and New York and Skandia Asset Management in Stockholm.

Max holds a Master of Science in both accounting and finance from Stockholm School of Economics. He is also a CFA charterholder.
