How can I purchase travel insurance from Singlife?

You may purchase travel insurance online or through our intermediaries.

Are there any age limits?

We do not have an age limit for adults. Under the Family package, we cover children under 21 years old, or up to 23 years old, if they’re unmarried and studying full-time in a recognised institute at the trip start date.

Who underwrites your insurance?

Singlife Travel insurance is underwritten by Singapore Life Ltd.

How early in advance should I purchase a single trip plan?

If your trip includes pre-payments or deposits for hotels, airlines and other travel-related services, we recommend that you purchase your travel insurance immediately after making these payments to protect yourself against trip cancellation charges. The Travel Plus and Travel Prestige plans offer coverage for Trip Cancellation For Any Reason and Change of Travelling Date or Time for Any Reason that guard against losing early payments. You’re advised to purchase this tier of travel insurance within seven days of making your pre-payments or deposits.

For example, if you’ve purchased an air ticket on 1 December 2022 and paid for your accommodation on 1 February 2023, for a trip from 1 June 2023 to 14 June 2023, you would’ve had to secure your travel insurance by 8 December 2022 to be covered under this section.

Am I covered if I purchase a travel policy after a known event (i.e. rioting in Hong Kong)?

No. Any claim arising from circumstances known to you or as published in the public domain, at the time of insurance issuance or before the booking of the related trip, will not be covered.

Can I purchase travel insurance if I am already overseas?

No. You’ll have to purchase your travel insurance before departing from Singapore.

I'm travelling to more than one country during my trip. Can I still get a policy?

Yes. Your policy covers you for all non-restricted countries within your travel zone. We have three travel zones:

ASEAN, which covers Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

Or

Asia, Australia, New Zealand covers the ASEAN countries, Australia, Bhutan, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Macau, Maldives, Mongolia, Nepal, New Zealand, People's Republic of China, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, and Tibet.

Or

Worldwide covers any countries outside Singapore except Afghanistan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Iran, Iraq, Liberia, Sudan, and Syria.

If your trip involves travel to countries in both Asia and Worldwide zones, kindly choose Worldwide coverage.

I will be travelling to more than two countries and will be back in Singapore before flying to the next country (e.g. Singapore > Thailand > Singapore > Australia > Singapore). Should I buy a single or annual multi-trip plan?

In such a scenario, you may want to purchase an annual multi-trip policy. This is because the coverage for a single-trip policy ends when you return to Singapore. Hence, we suggest the more economical choice of an annual multi-trip travel insurance plan rather than buying several single trip plans.
