Bringing Singaporeans closer to football’s greatest moments
Leading homegrown financial services company Singlife is a main sponsor for Mediacorp’s broadcast of the FIFA World Cup 2026™. The world’s most prestigious football competition is held once every four years to determine the world champion among men’s national teams.
This sponsorship, which highlights Singlife’s continuing commitment to being A Better Way to inspire communities through sports, coincides with the release of its new television commercial “The Finals”. From 12 June to 20 July 2026 (SGT), Singlife’s TVC will be aired during ‘live’ and repeat telecasts of matches on Mediacorp’s digital streaming platform mewatch and Channel 5.
“The Finals” is themed around navigating the highs, lows and unanticipated twists of life, filled with drama and unpredictability, just like football. It highlights the importance of narrowing protection gaps around Long-Term Care, and early planning as A Better Way for Singaporeans to achieve financial resilience, and the freedom to enjoy life’s precious moments and what matters most to them with confidence. Its closing tagline “Don’t be caught off guard” encourages people, just like players in a football team, to anticipate and plan ahead of the ever-changing movements in the game of life.
Debra Soon, Group Head of Brand, Communications, Marketing and Experience, Singlife, said: “At Singlife, we are ardent supporters of sports as it inspires people and brings together communities the world over. Many Singaporeans are football supporters – just look at our nationwide Unleash the Roar! Movement - we know the World Cup will inspire with an exciting six weeks of play, with the best in international talent. We’re proud to bring it to as many Singaporeans as possible, just as we did four years ago, to uplift local talent and enthusiasts through the love of the sport.”
As the official broadcast rights holder of the FIFA World Cup 2026™ in Singapore, Mediacorp will provide audiences with access to all 104 matches and official ceremonies via mewatch and carriage partner platforms from 12 June to 20 July 2026 (SGT). The company will also expand its free-to-air offering from nine matches in 2022 to 28 matches this year, available on Channel 5 and on mewatch, allowing fans to watch ‘live’ across any device. Beyond the matches, viewers can also follow the action through curated highlights and moments on mewatch as well as Mediacorp Sports on Youtube, TikTok and other digital platforms. This reinforces Mediacorp’s commitment to making major sporting events more accessible and bringing Singaporeans together through shared viewing experiences. The FIFA World Cup 2026™ will be the most expansive edition of the tournament to date, marking the first time that 48 teams will compete across three host countries – Canada, Mexico and the United States.
Beyond football, Singlife champions Singapore sports through sponsorships in Netball and Wheelchair Rugby to inspire resilience and celebrate tenacity of individuals chasing their dreams. It recently renewed its partnership with Netball Singapore, where it will support national team the Vandas, and is title sponsor for the Singlife National League and Singlife Nations Cup.
Last year, Singlife signed a two-year sponsorship of the Wheelchair Rugby Association Singapore, to foster inclusivity, resilience, and inspire support in Singapore’s sporting community for athletes with disabilities. As title sponsor for its flagship events such as the Singlife Wheelchair Rugby Cup and others, Singlife hopes to continually raise awareness of the sport to promote inclusivity and inspire communities to support athletes with disabilities.
