Commonly Asked Questions

The base plan is a regular premium protection plan that covers Cancer. A lump sum of $5,000 is payable upon the death of the life assured. If the life assured is diagnosed with any of the cancer, we will pay the base benefit sum assured.

This plan is available for Singapore residents who are Singapore citizen, Singapore Permanent Resident or foreigner holding any of the following valid passes:

  • Employment Pass
  • Dependent Pass
  • Long Term Visitor’s Pass
  • S Pass
  • EntrePass

The life assured must be between 18 and 65 years of age.

  • If the life assured is diagnosed with Early Stage or Intermediate Stage Cancer and has claimed under those benefits, the policy will remain in-force and he can still claim again if the cancer relapses or he is diagnosed with new cancer that is unrelated to the previous ones, until 100% of the Sum Assured is paid out under the policy.

Please note that waiting period of 90 days from date of remission diagnosis applies for cancer relapse situation.

The Sum Assured reduces due to admitted claims but the same premium remains payable.

    Scenario 1

If the life assured is diagnosed with Early Stage Cancer and Intermediate Stage Cancer and then Late Stage Major Cancer, the payout will be 25%, 50% and 25% of the original Sum Assured respectively, such that the total payout is 100% of the Sum Assured. The policy terminates thereafter.

    Scenario 2

If the life assured is diagnosed with Early Stage Cancer and Late Stage Major Cancer, the payout will be 25% and 75% of the original Sum Assured respectively, such that the total payout is 100% of the Sum Assured. The policy terminates thereafter.

The policy will automatically renew at the end of the selected policy term for the same sum assured and same term, provided that no claims had been admitted under the policy and the attained age of the life assured upon renewal does not exceed the maximum renewal age.

If the attained age at the end of the renewed term exceeds the maximum coverage expiry age, the renewed term will be reduced to expire at that maximum coverage expiry age.

The premium for such renewal will be based on the attained age of the life assured at renewal.

The policy owner can cancel any renewal within 14 days from the renewal date without incurring a penalty.

    Waiting period
There is a 90-day waiting period from the policy issue date or the latest reinstatement date (whichever is later) before you can make a claim.

For the Recurrence Benefit to be claimed, the Early-stage Cancer or Intermediate-stage Cancer has to be diagnosed as in remission, ninety (90) days before the relapse diagnosis of the same stage and type of Cancer.

    Survival period
The life assured must survive 7 days after the date of diagnosis of the Stage of Cancer applicable to the plan purchase, before the selected sum assured for the benefits is payable. Otherwise, only the death benefit under the base plan will be payable.
