Singlife Shield and Singlife Health Plus plans give eligible foreigners greater choice and continuity of healthcare protection, alongside Singlife’s broader suite of financial protection solutions
Leading homegrown financial services company Singlife has extended Singlife Shield and Singlife Health Plus, to eligible foreigners living, working and studying in Singapore.
For many foreigners, access to healthcare can come with different considerations, such as higher out-of-pocket medical expenses as compared to Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents who are eligible for healthcare subsidies. While some may have corporate healthcare coverage through their employers, having their own health insurance can provide continuity of protection as their employment circumstances and healthcare benefits change.
Singlife Shield Plan 1 provides coverage for treatment at private hospitals, with a policy year limit of up to S$2 million. Through Singlife's partnership with IHH Healthcare Singapore, the largest private hospital network in Singapore, policyholders enjoy access to over 700 medical specialists and seamless hospital admissions.
For those looking to balance healthcare costs with comprehensive protection, Singlife Shield Plan 2 covers treatment at Class A wards in public hospitals. Its S$1.2 million policy year limit is the highest among public hospital plans available to foreigners in Singapore.
They also have the option to further enhance their coverage with Singlife Health Plus Private or Singlife Health Plus Public, which provide additional benefits for cancer treatment, critical illness and mental wellness.
Helen Shen, Group Head of Products, Singlife, said: “For many foreigners, Singapore is more than a place to work – it’s where they have chosen to build their lives. By extending Singlife Shield and Singlife Health Plus to eligible foreigners, we’re giving them greater choice and control to better manage unexpected medical costs and protect their financial wellbeing. From healthcare and critical illness to long-term financial protection and investments, Singlife brings multiple dimensions of financial protection together under one proposition. We are giving more customers a better way to protect what matters most.”
Beyond hospitalisation and medical expenses, foreigners can protect against the wider financial impact of a critical illness, including loss of income and ongoing financial commitments. Singlife offers eligible foreigners a range of critical illness plans, including Singlife Comprehensive Critical Illness, Singlife Multipay Critical Illness and Singlife Essential Critical Illness, which provide lump-sum payouts upon diagnosis of covered critical illnesses.
Families can also enjoy discounted premiums for Singlife Shield as well as free Singlife Health Plus coverage for children up to 20 years old, subject to applicable terms.
Singlife Shield and Singlife Health Plus are now available to eligible holders of the Employment Pass (EP), Personalised Employment Pass (PEP), Overseas Networks & Expertise Pass (ONE Pass), EntrePass, S Pass, Dependant Pass, Long-Term Visit Pass (LTVP), Long-Term Visit Pass Plus (LTVP+), Letter of Consent, Student Pass and Work Permit.
