The three new Integrated Shield Plan riders align with the Ministry of Health’s latest requirements and reduce premiums by 30% to 84% while new Singlife Care Collab Recovery Support Benefit for existing and new customers provides up to $20,000 coverage for home nursing care and rehabilitation services
Leading homegrown financial services company Singlife announced the launch of three new Integrated Shield Plan (IP) riders that reduce premiums by 30% to 84%, and a Singlife Care Collab Recovery Support Benefit for existing and new customers. The options provide Singaporeans with a more affordable way to enhance their healthcare protection and give greater access to rehabilitation support which is vital as Singapore ages.
Available from 1 April 2026, Singlife Health Plus Private (attached to the private hospital plan, i.e., Singlife Shield Plan 1) and Singlife Health Plus Public (attached to the public hospital plans, i.e., Singlife Shield Plan 2 and Singlife Shield Plan 3) cover treatment at B1 wards and higher, and align with the Ministry of Health’s latest requirements – they do not cover deductibles and come with a co-insurance cap of $6,000. Coverage for outpatient cancer drug treatment under the new Private rider is limited to $10,000 per month.
These changes create a more cost-effective base plan for customers and give them the freedom to build their healthcare safety net on their terms. For enhanced cancer protection, they have the option to add further coverage with Singlife’s cancer plans.
Demonstrating its commitment to support customers’ long-term recovery and rehabilitation, the insurer is offering the new Singlife Care Collab Recovery Support Benefit. This is available at no extra cost, to new and existing customers who hold both Singlife Health Plus and Singlife CareShield/ElderShield from 1 April 2026. It provides $20,000 coverage over two years to help offset the cost of home nursing care and rehabilitation services in the event of severe disability.
The benefit comes under Singlife’s Care Collab which offers customers care beyond coverage for their hospitalisation and medical bills, and aims to be a holistic solution to support Singaporeans to live and age well.
According to Singlife’s Long-Term Care White Paper 2025, the cost of long-term care is $3,000 per month today and rising at about 4% per year. Its customer data also indicates that the average claim duration is 10 years.
Helen Shen, Group Head of Products, Singlife, said, “We want to take care of our customers’ wellbeing from the time they are first diagnosed till their recovery. We are looking beyond financial planning, giving them prompt, tailored assistance, and connecting them with our Care Collab partners, so that with our Recovery Support Benefit, they can ‘Rebuild’ their health. We aim to ease their families’ burdens and show them a better way to recover from disability, throughout their entire journey.”
The Care Collab Recovery Support Benefit offers customers more holistic insurance, grounded in research data Singlife has found over the past few years. For example, the most common causes of disability are cancer, stroke and dementia, with the two years following a severe disability diagnosis the most pivotal phase of recovery. Hence, Singlife has partnered social service agencies in these areas.
Connecting Patients to Community Care
Singlife has partnered agencies like the Singapore Cancer Society, Stroke Support Station (S3) and Dementia Singapore, which provide wellness and recovery programmes, support groups, caregiver training, and care resources. Customers can tap into these providers with the Care Collab Recovery Support Benefit and have greater peace of mind to focus on their recovery.
Singlife policyholders who are recovering from cancer can benefit from the Singapore Cancer Society’s rehabilitation programmes. Dr Dennis Chia, Group Director of Clinical Services, Singapore Cancer Society, said, “Rehabilitation before and during treatment can support cancer patients in staying as physically able as possible and coping better during their cancer treatment. By integrating these evidence-based programmes with Singlife's Care Collab Recovery Support Benefit, we want to provide patients the care necessary for optimal recovery as much as possible.”
Ng Rei Na, Executive Director, S3, said, “Community-based rehabilitation plays a vital role in helping stroke survivors regain mobility, independence and confidence. From rehabilitation to post-stroke fitness training, with programmes such as the Adaptive Gym, launched in collaboration with the Lien Foundation, we are helping individuals to rebuild strength, confidence and independence in a safe, supportive environment.”
With some 152,000 Singaporeans expected to be living with dementia by 2030, Bryan Tan, Chief Executive Officer, Dementia Singapore, emphasised the importance of early awareness: “Through this partnership with Singlife, we aim to help raise the awareness of early intervention to slow the progression of dementia, and the importance of timely support to help patients enhance their quality of life.”
Singlife will continue to build its Care Collab network to offer more services to customers, with a focus to help close Singaporeans’ protection gap as they age. Beyond direct medical services, these include support for caregivers and benefits.
