How to make a claim

Make sure to submit your claim within 7 days of the incident or as soon as reasonably possible.

For any claim that requires reimbursements for upfront expenses paid by the policyholder (medical receipts, purchase receipts, etc.), submit your original documents with policy number indicated to:

Wait for our acknowledgement email or call within 2 working days from the time we receive your claims submission. If we need further information, we'll get in touch within 30 working days. 

Once your claim is approved, you'll receive an email. Your claim payout will be paid via PayNow within 1 to 2 business days.

Please ensure that your PayNow account is registered under your NRIC in order to receive the payment successfully.

Otherwise, the bank will mail you a physical cheque.

Do I qualify for Singlife Travel Insurance?

In order to qualify for travel insurance from Singlife, you must meet the following criteria:

  • You have a valid NRIC or FIN.
  • You are at least 16 years old at the time of purchase (only required if you are the applicant).
  • The journey is a round trip, beginning and ending in Singapore.
  • You are not travelling contrary to the advice of a qualified medical practitioner or for the purpose of obtaining medical treatment.
  • You buy the policy before you leave Singapore on your trip.


How far in advance should I purchase single trip insurance?

If your trip includes pre-payments or deposits for say, hotels, airlines and other travel needs, we recommend that you buy travel insurance immediately after making these payments to protect yourself against trip cancellation charges. Our 'Travel Plus' and 'Travel Prestige' also offers Trip Cancellation For Any Reason and Change of Travelling Date or Time for Any Reason that would be useful to guard against losing early payments. Just buy this tier of travel insurance within 7 days of making your pre-payments or deposits.

For example: 
You paid for your air ticket on 1 Dec 2019 but paid for your accommodation on 1 Feb 2020 for a trip from 1 Jun 2020 to 14 Jun 2020.

You are required to purchase the travel insurance latest by 8 Dec 2019 in order to be covered under this section.


Help, my bags are lost/damaged/have been stolen. Must I inform the police?

Bummer! Quick, report the theft or loss to the police within 24 hours of discovering it. Make sure to ask them for a report in writing. If you think your airline, transport company or hotel could be responsible for this, let them know and ask for a written report as well. You'll need these documents when you make a claim with us.


Are there countries which are not covered?

Unfortunately, yes, and they are Afghanistan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Iran, Iraq, Liberia, Sudan and Syria. So we don't cover any claims that result from your travel in, to or through these countries.


What is the difference between Individual, Family and Group Package?

The difference is as follows: 

Individual Package covers you only.

Family Package covers you, your spouse and/or your legal child/children who travel with you on the same single trip. For annual family plan, you and your spouse need not travel together but your children below 16 years old must be accompanied by you or your spouse for any trip.

Group Package covers you and up to 19 other individuals (including children) travelling together on the same trip. A 10% discount applies to groups of at least 6 persons and a 15% discount applies to groups of 11 to 20 persons.
