“Breaking A New Ground”

A Journey of Collaboration and Empowerment

In line with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM)’s efforts to ensure adequate financial protection for platform workers from 2025, Singlife teamed up with partners across Ride-Hailing, Food Delivery, Logistics and Telemedicine industries to co-create embedded insurance offerings.

Through this partnership, over 16,000 platform workers from Ryde, Rida, HungryPanda, GoGoX, and Meili gained access to Work Injury Compensation Act (WICA) coverage.

“Protecting the Platform Workers”

How can Platform Workers benefit from the coverage?

Medical expenses:

Up to $45,000 or medical expenses incurred 1 year from the date of accident, whichever is reached first.

Income loss compensation:

For medical leave: Full average daily earnings for up to 14 days, 2/3 average daily earnings from 15th day to 1 year from the date of accident.

For hospitalisation leave:
Full average daily earnings for up to 60 days, 2/3 average daily earnings from 61st day to 1 year from the date of accident.

Permanent Incapacity: From $97,000, up to $289,000

“Enhancing Wellbeing”

How can we implement ‘Beyond Insurance’ initiative for Platform Workers?

At Singlife, we believe in providing our customers with holistic protection and coverage. With our ‘Beyond Insurance’ proposition, platform workers can tap on the benefits provided by our ecosystem partners including our wellness bazaars, uplifting their welfare.

Connecting for their Financial Freedom

Singlife’s Financial Freedom Index for Platform Workers Report highlighted that only 12% of Platform Workers have sufficient funds to tap into for unexpected situations.

Singlife's initiative to provide WICA has made a significant contribution to the financial freedom of platform workers by alleviating the financial burden of accidents and emergencies.

Our Gig Connect initiative allows individuals to mitigate this key concern and drives them towards being more financially free.

By providing insurance under WICA to Platform Workers as part of our overall commitment to Gig Worker segment, Singlife has made a significant contribution to the financial freedom of platform workers by alleviating the financial burden of accidents and emergencies.
