Will my bonus return be credited together with my base return?
The crediting of your bonus return will happen on the same day as the crediting of your base return, but both will reflect as separate transactions on your Singlife Account activity screen.
When exactly can I start earning the bonus returns of 0.5% p.a. for my first S$10,000?
As long as you meet the minimum spend criteria of S$500 within "Your Current Card Spend Period", you're eligible to earn your bonus returns from your "Next Crediting Date".
For details on specific dates, please see here. Alternatively, go to the Singlife App, tap on “Save & Earn” to access your Singlife Account dashboard and tap on the amount earned this period. You will be able to see the "Next Crediting Date" and if you click on "Card Spend Tracker", you will be able to see your "Current Card Spend Period". All you need to do is to spend S$500 during your card spend period to qualify for the additional 0.5% p.a. for your first S$10,000.
When exactly are my spending, earning and crediting periods and how do I know if I qualify for bonus returns?
You can go to the Singlife App, tap on “Save & Earn” to access your Singlife Account dashboard and click on the amount earned this period. You will be able to see the "Next Crediting Date" as well as the bonus return earned and if you tap on "Card Spend Tracker", you will be able to see your "Current Card Spend Period" and how much you have spent to date.
What if my policy start date is on the 31st day of the month? When is my crediting date in the months with less than 31 days (e.g., Feb, Apr, Sept)?
Crediting of earned returns will only happen on the following day of your policy anniversary month. For example, if your policy start date is 31 August, 2022, the crediting date for September will fall on 1 October, 2022.
What happens if I spend S$500 in total over two or more card spend periods? Do I still qualify for the bonus return of 0.5% p.a. on the first S$10,000?
No. The minimum qualifying spend of S$500 has to be achieved within a specific card spend period in order to qualify for the bonus return in that month. The spending during one card spend period has no bearing on any spending during another card spend period.
On top of the promotional base return of 2% p.a.^ on my first S$10,000 in my Singlife Account, how can I earn the bonus return of 1% p.a.?
You may earn 0.5% bonus return through the Save, Spend, Earn Campaign, which has been extended to 31 Mar 2023. Customers who spend at least S$500 on their Singlife Visa Debit Card by their next crediting date, qualify for a bonus return of 0.5% p.a. on their first S$10,000, in the following policy month. Find out more about the campaign here.
You can also earn additional 0.5% bonus return through the Singlife Sure Invest Bonus Return Campaign, which has also been extended to 31 Mar 2023. Maintain your existing Singlife Sure Invest policy or sign up for a new Singlife Sure Invest plan and fund a minimum of S$1,000, to qualify for 0.5% p.a. bonus return. Find out more about the campaign here.
By participating in both campaigns, you'll earn up to 3.0% p.a. on your first S$10,000 in your Singlife Account.
^ Promotional base returns for first S$10,000 only. For amounts above S$10,000, up to S$100,000, enjoy promotional base returns of 1.4% p.a. Available from 15 Dec 2022 to 31 Mar 2023.
Is the 0.5% bonus return the same as cashback on my credit card? What’s the difference?
The Singlife card is a Visa debit card and not a credit card.
The cashback you receive on your credit card is tied to your spending amount. For instance, if a user spends S$500 and is entitled to 0.5% cashback on that amount, that will equate to S$2.50 cashback.
By contrast, although the bonus return is tied to a minimum spend within a specific card spend period, the amount received as 0.5% p.a. bonus return is tied to your Singlife Account value. Therefore, if a user spends S$500 and qualifies for a bonus return, they will get 0.5% p.a. return on the value of their Singlife Account. As the bonus return is calculated based on 0.5% p.a. of up to S$10,000 in the account value, this would amount to up to S$4.16 a month on the same S$500 spend.
If I terminate my Singlife Account midway, will I still be eligible for any outstanding bonus returns?
You'll only be eligible for the returns earned until the day you terminate your account.
If I qualify for the first month of bonus returns, but not for the second, am I still able to qualify for the third?
Yes. Card spend periods are independent of each other.
I don't have my Singlife Visa Debit Card. How do I get one?
On the Singlife App after your Singlife Account application:
How long will the crediting rates remain (i.e. promotional base return of 2.0% p.a. for the first S$10,000 and 1.4% p.a. for the next S$90,000) as they are?
The Singlife Account’s crediting rates are subject to change and are dependent on the interest rate environment. However, do note that your capital is guaranteed and you will not get back any less than your account value.
From 15 Dec 2022 to 31 Mar 2023, enjoy promotional base return of 2% p.a. for the first S$10,000 in Singlife Account. For amounts above S$10,000, up to S$100,000, enjoy promotional base return of 1.4% p.a.
How do I qualify for the Save, Spend, Earn bonus returns?
You must have an active Singlife Account policy and have ordered and activated a Singlife Visa Debit Card. You must spend the minimum of S$500 within a card spend period to qualify for the 0.5% p.a. bonus return on your first S$10,000, in the following policy month.
Please see terms and conditions.
Do all types of purchases on the Singlife Visa Debit Card count towards the minimum S$500 spend for the Save, Spend, Earn Campaign?
All purchases that can be made using your Singlife Visa Debit Card count towards qualifying for your bonus returns. There are no Merchant Category Code (MCC) exclusions, which means all categories of spend are applicable. These categories include bill payments, insurance premium payments and mobile wallet top-ups. However, it's within the merchant's discretion to accept or reject the Singlife Visa Debit Card as a payment method. Additionally, any reversed, disputed, declined or fraudulent (or seen as unauthorised) transactions will not count towards your qualifying spend. Qualifying spends will be determined by transaction date and time, based on Singapore Standard Time (UTC +8).
